Free music in Glenhaven Park
We're just a little more than a week away from Roseway's first Portland Parks & Recreation summer concert!Pete Krebs & his Portland Playboys will deliver old-school Western swing beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Glenhaven Park. Look for the stage on the NE Siskiyou Street side of the park, near the playground. Kids art activities begin at 6:15 p.m.This free family-friendly event is free and open to all ages, and well-mannered dogs on leashes are welcome.Bring a picnic, or bring cash to buy goodies from Whole Foods Market and Masala Pop Indian spiced popcorn. If youΓ’β¬β’re 21 or older, you can also bring in your own wine and beer, thanks to a special event permit.During intermission, organizers will pass the hat to help raise money for next summer. The hope is to expand to a multi-concert series in 2013. (You can also make an onlineΓΒ tax-deductible donation to the Portland Parks Foundation. You can earmark your donation to benefit our Roseway parks in the future Γ’β¬β Glenhaven Park for summer concerts or Wellington Park for summer movies.
