'Paella Party in the Painted Parkblocks' fundraiser for the mural project wildly successful

Over 60 friends and neighbors attended the Paella Party in the Painted Parkblocks fundraiser for the mural project under ominous skies on Saturday afternoon in the 72nd Avenue Park Blocks. Amazing food by Donald Granger and Marlys Mick; raffle tickets for artist's proofs of the mural and an original print by artist Angelina Marino. Even chocolate chip cookies made and shipped from mural artist Gary Herd's motherÒ€”all the way from the Great State of Maine. Thanks to RNA Board member Peggy Sullivan and to all that participated and made this event possible. The mural is at a point that community helpers could be a big help with putting on paint in the lower areas (only the artists can go up on the scaffolding) They'll be working on the Wall whenever there's a dry spell, so if you're at idle ends, come on over and wield a paintbrush, become one with art! Thanks to Roseway Historian Bonnie LaDoe for capturing photographic evidence that a good time was had by all.
