Hey, kids, let's put on a summer concert!
Want to help boost the fun factor in Roseway? Now’s your chance.Roseway is partnering with Portland Parks & Recreation to bring the city’s free, family-friendly summer concert series to Glenhaven Park in 2012. Pete Krebs and his Portland Playboys will christen our foray into the series with their brand of Western swing.Concerts in the park include food vendors, hands-on visual art activities for children and a chance to meet your neighbors. Bring a picnic and your dancing shoes, and well-heeled dogs on leashes. Under a special-use permit, you can also bring in your own beer and wine.Roseway’s concert will be Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Our hope is to expand to a series of concerts as early as next summer.To make all this happen, we need your help.Each neighborhood that takes part in the citywide series raises the money to cover expenses, such as performer fees and equipment. Your contribution will help start a tradition that will grow over time and enliven our neighborhood.No donation is too small. And if you’re a business that would like to become a sponsor at the $150 level or above, this is the perfect chance to connect with many potential new customers. Through your tax-deductible sponsorship, you have the potential to reach:·       A citywide audience with inclusion in the Portland Parks & Recreation summer concert and movie season brochure.·       A targeted neighborhood audience through other promotional information.As a sponsor, you also can bring in a promotional table to the events you support. Sponsors often hand out literature about their business, gather mailing list signatures, or hold raffles or other giveaways.This year only, sponsors who give a minimum of $150 will receive the same benefits as those at the Good Neighbor Sponsor level (normally $250). And because Glenhaven is hosting only one concert this year, sponsors who give $250 or more can table at one to three additional park concerts, depending on the giving level.
